I was born in Glasgow in March 1948 to parents who were Jewish refugees from Nazi persecution, and had emigrated from Germany to Britain in 1939.
My parents, Martin and Pat Anson were very proud to be citizens of Scotland, their new home, especially when so many of their family members were not able to emigrate, and were subsequently murdered.
My family’s experiences of persecution had a profound effect on me, and I am grateful as 2nd generation immigrant, that I can honour their memory through our project.
Using the business management skills I have developed in sales and marketing at home and overseas, I feel I am able to apply this experience to benefit our project.
My main responsibilities are managing the logistics of our mobile exhibition, publicity, and as a volunteer Holocaust speaker and educator.
By educating people young and old about the dangers of intolerance and where it can lead, I feel I am paying tribute to my parent’s memory, and to other victims of genocide who have no one to speak for them.
